It’s been a month since I took my notes for this blog and I finally decided to just do it and see where it goes. Guess I’ll get the less exciting adventure out of the way since there is nothing in-depth to write. You know that nasty flu everyone was talking about? Yep, I got it, in spades! Two weeks dying at home, a week and a half in the hospital and another three weeks trying to recover and not go stir crazy. Now to the juicy sex stuff I researched and thought was interesting. Pasties are little round bits of paper to cover not only the nipples but the entire areola. If the ordinance was not followed the club and dancers could be arrested immediately. The dancers felt the city was trying to make them look ugly so even though they said the clubs could stay open customers would not return due to the ‘cover ups’. I think they were right in their guess. Also, customers not aware of the law did ask why the dancers were covered up. There was however a loop hole and so a small troupe of performers called ‘Femme Fatale’ and Club Juana decided to test that loop hole. And of course if you are going to go theatre you might as well do it right, so the choose the scene of the witches in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. They did learn it correctly and even hired a director/playwright by the name of Morris Sullivan. He gave them direction and made sure they said the lines correctly. So even though they were trying to push the limits they did go the lengths to be right. From that first performance sprang other skits to satirize the ridiculous laws and how they would be enforced. Sadly despite their efforts the final straw did come in the form of a bridge. Yes the city decided that a bridge just so happen to need to go right through the property of the Club. They did try to sue the city for losses with the help of attorney Steve Mason but ultimately they got a small compensation and the club is history. My guess is that in Florida the city feels adults can’t decide for themselves. In Canada, after a certain hour you can see tits and ass all you like with a side of cursing. Halloween, busy and phonesex
